Certificate IV in Training & Assessment

Overview

To teach Nationally Accredited Training or to teach in the TAFE sector, you require a TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.

In partnership with KAL Multimedia Training, OPEN CHANNEL is offering its Members and affiliated tutors the rare opportunity to gain a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA40104 plus sections of TAA50104) for $1,100.

This is a professional development opportunity not to be missed. Gain qualifications (which may be tax deductible) as you are work in the screen industry. You will also have the opportunity to develop and validate your assessment tools and learn how to use training packages to suit your needs.

The TAA course is delivered in a mixed mode of on-line learning, flexible workplace delivery and (6) face-to-face tutorial / workshop sessions.

Upgrade

An upgrade from BSZ40198 to TAA40104 is priced at $495. Existing Cert IV - BSZ40198 qualified trainers wishing to up-grade to the TAA will need to show competence in the following units:

  • TAAENV401A Work effectively in vocational education and training
  • TAAENV402A Foster and promote an inclusive learning culture
  • TAAENV403A Ensure a healthy and safe learning environment
  • TAADES401A Use Training Packages to meet client needs
  • TAAASS403A Develop assessment tools
  • TAAASS404A Participate in assessment validation

Evidence of current industry practice and delivery of training and assessment is also required. Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC) with an Upgrade can be completed on-line with the choice of available workshops.

Orientation

During Orientation, students should bring along RCC/RPL information. Orientation Dates can be arranged with trainers and students, prior to the commencement of the workshops. At this time a Training Plan will be put together for you.

The program is delivered with a mix of Victorian Government funding and “Fee for service” units, plus RCC/RPL covering:

  • Minimum 12 weeks (full TAA)
  • On-line flexible learning,
  • (6)Face to face tutorial sessions
  • Practical assessments

Workplace activities will need to be completed during the program. Variance in duration may occur depending on group experience and RCC requirements.

About the Tutors

Classes are conducted by Ade Djajamihardja and Marguerite Coldwell. Ade is a professional screen practitioner with experience in both television and independent film who has run courses for industry in both Australia and overseas. Marguerite has been facilitating learning for the past 16 years. She specializes in “teaching” workplace trainers and has a special interest in vocational education and training.
