The web site gofreelance.com states, "Freelance video editing jobs are becoming more and more common, particularly because digital media is becoming such a widespread and cost-effective alternative to traditional filming. Because of the popularity of digital videos, freelance video editors are enjoying a bigger and better job market. Gone are the days when seeking freelance video editor jobs meant always having to work on site. If you have the right skills and your own editing system, you can often do your work as a freelance video editor from the comfort of your own home. This means you won't be confined to looking for local jobs. You can seek freelance video editing jobs on a worldwide level." This course provides the skills needed to work as a freelance "fast turnaround" editor using Final Cut Pro, to work on television shows such as lifestyle and consumer, reality or news broadcasts. Other opportunities in addition to television work such as News or Lifestyle programs, includes editing work for commercial (ads or music clips), corporate, "domestic" (ie wedding video) or independent film productions. Editors should be able to work in both a capacity where creative input is required, and also in more of an 'operator' role, realising the client's exact specifications.
